Visions of Sugarplums - Day Three

It's already Day Three of Visions of Sugarplums!  I'm always amazed at how quickly time flies.  So glad a lot of you are enjoying our little Christmas blog event.  It's always fun to meet new people!

Don't you love the camper?  It's so sweet and kitchy.  I read an article about glamping - I think this is what they had in mind.  (Of course, you wouldn't have to go Christmas with it - think birthday, perhaps.)  It opens at the top:

I popped in an Instant Snowman S'more - perfect for a camping + Christmas combo, right?

This is two Striped Fudge cookies and a marshmallow with melted chocolate eyes and mouth and an icing nose.  Melt and eat - yum!

Aren't the images pretty?  So easy and fun to embellish.

I used a set of her circle images to make a toy muffin tin ornament.

Visions of Sugarplums Day Two

I mentioned yesterday about loving vintage goodies.  It's just not Christmas without the "old stuff" - you know what I mean?  So I tend to gravitate to vintage looking "new stuff" too.  One of my regular etsy stops is Beatriz's Iralamija shop.  Her images are perfect for me - I love creating with them!

Last year, I lucked upon a bunch of Viewmaster Pockets with the reels inside.  I just love them!  I especially love them for gift card holders or to tuck a little note into.  This year I made gift card holders for Christmas with oh, so cute reindeer:

Celebrate with MTME

This is the last day for showcasing the December release at My Time Made Easy.    I used the new Card Wrapper template once more.  I scaled it down and used it to package a gift card pocket.

Love the new digital stamp set:  Christmas Swag.  It's gorgeous!

I printed the two reindeer images from Christmas Swag onto an old postcard image.  And then sewed the postcard to cardstock to create the gift card pocket.  I think this would work really well for a guy.  What do you think?

Visions of Sugarplums 2012 - Day One

Welcome to the second annual Visions of Sugarplums!   Join us all week for Christmas ideas, including decorations, recipes, and traditions.  Oh, and let's not forget the giveaways - we have more than one every day!  This is a long post, so settle in and let's get to it!

I look all the time for vintage Christmas images.  We love to scour antique stores and vintage markets for goodies.  I also peruse etsy stores on a regular basis.  I came across a wonderful Victorian Santa Garland set at Moonlighting by Mary.  Love this set because it's beautiful and because it's digital I can print it the size I want and as many times as I want.  I really love banners - they are so festive and they make perfect gifts.  For Christmas, I put a banner on my big files at work and I always have one or two hanging at home.  

 I printed off the images and sewed them to seam binding ribbon.  Truly, the images are so pretty I could have stopped right there.  I, of course, had to add some of my favorite things:  glitter, buttons, bows.  They make me happy, you know!

Visions of Sugarplums

It's that time again - I have Visions of Sugarplums dancing in my head!  The second annual Visions of Sugarplums event will begin Monday, Dec. 3rd!  Mark your calendars!  It was a lot of fun last year and this year it will be even MORE fun!  We'll be sharing Christmas projects, recipes, traditions and be giving away lots of goodies - more than one a day!!

I have a co-host this year:  Lisa Minkler.   She'll be posting every day.  If you don't know her, you will have a lot of fun - Lisa has a great sense of humor and I'm sure we'll be seeing it!  Her projects are detailed and beautiful...

Thank You Snow Much for MTME

I've put together several Kid Thank You kits over the years.  In my experience, kids love to create their own cards as long as it's not frustrating. 

Holding all the goodies is the Card Wrap Template - part of the new release at My Time Made Easy.    It has such a pretty top and it goes together so easily.  I used paper from the Candy Claus collection.  This is an example of the card that kids could make:

Inside are all the pieces to make four cards.  The sweet snowman is already cut out with a pop dot on the back ready to pop on the card.  The flags are also ready to go.  The "buttons" already have twine bows.  The pieces for the card are cut using the Homemade Holiday Labels Cut File.  No frustration here...

The little pieces fit perfectly in the chevron bag.

Chair-ished for MTME

Today I'm showcasing the Chair-ished Template from the December release at My Time Made Easy.  It's a cute, whimsical chair ready to slip a little gift inside.

This would be cute for a hostess gift or even a Valentine gift.  Or a Just Because gift for a friend.  I used the Wood grain paper from the Camp Out set and the polka dot paper from this month's release.  The little hearts were cut using the Flag 'Em Down cut file.  To see all the new release, check out the New Products section in the store.  To see more ideas for the December release, check out these blogs:
