Pixie Dust Christmas Gift Card Holder

Sometimes gift cards can seem so impersonal.  But, I think if you get a card from a place the person really enjoys and put it in a darling gift card holder, you can't go wrong!   Here's another project for Pixie Dust using the November kit.

  I started with the green cardstock and added cute pieces from the Echo Park Christmas papers and sticker sheet.  The green seam binding and silver tinsel are from the November kit, too. 

 This is so easy to make!  Just cut the cardstock to 4 1/2 x 5 1/4" and score 2 1/4" from the bottom.  Fold it up and sew the sides.  That's it...easy as can be.

A vous mes souhaits

All my wishes to you!  This vintage french postcard is so pretty!  I've been wanting to make a card using it and finally just decided I was going to take the time to do it! 

 I used one of the pretty Prima journal cards that comes in the November Pixie Dust kit.   I really like these sweet little roses from Recollections at Michaels. 

 I bought some pretty green ones  yesterday.  Can't wait to use those!  Hope you're having a wonderful week! 

Pixie Dust November Kit

Hope you've had a chance to look at the other Designer Days this week at Pixie Dust Paperie blog.  Talk about inspiration!  The November kit is full of fab papers, flowers, brads, ribbon, a darling banner... Check it out at Pixie Dust Paperie! 

 When I saw this cutie pie paper I knew I was going to turn it into a spring birthday card.  We have lots of April birthdays in my family, so that's immediately where my mind went!  I die cut clouds, flowers and hearts from some of the other papers to add to the card.  I also added another little bird looking in the nest.  The so very pretty pink Prima paper made a  wonderful spiral rose to decorate my Happy Birthday banner.

  At the bottom, I added that cutie dog and butterflies then left a blank space so I could write a personal note.

  Then I just folded it up

 and tied it closed with the green seam binding ribbon that comes in the kit.

  Now, I hope I remember I have it when April rolls around!

Dec Daily 2 at Cutting Cafe

 I drew a little jumper and then backed it with 3 layers of cardstock and added some tiny lace. 

The papers are old (but still wonderful) K&Co.  The saying is finished on the inside of the card. 

Decided to keep it a simple circle.  Can you believe it's November already?  We had a nice cooldown today and it's really feeling like fall.  Love it!

Happy Halloween!

I love, love, love Halloween!  When Lauren was little we had the most fabulous Halloween parties with games and goodies and even trick or treating right in the house!  This little banner project was one of the first Halloween projects I created this year.  I've had him hanging on my lingerie chest and forgot to take pictures!  I just love this postcard.  I enlarged it quite a bit (apprx. 5/12 x 9) and printed extras of the boy and the cats so I could pop them up a bit.  

I added pretty ribbons and a little banner. 

 The verse on the postcard talks about a moon, but there wasn't one in the picture, so...I added one!

Vintage Goodness

Betsy Veldman uses a lot of vintage goodies in her creations.  She has a challenge going on right now to use something vintage in a creation.  Of course, vintage is my thing, so I couldn't resist participating! I used a vintage image, book page, and buttons.  I found this darling book at an estate sale awhile back. 

 It's large:  about 9 1/2 x 13".  So I scanned in the image I wanted to use and reduced it.

  I know it's way early for spring, but I like to think ahead.

  I used an old children's book page to create the rose. 

The papers are from My Minds Eye and the cardstock and the embossing die used on it are from Papertrey Ink.   I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the fence...continuing the idea from the image.  I had a little green seam binding ribbon left (got to find time to dye some more!), just the color I wanted.  I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday  - it really caught my eye. 

 Love the set up. 

I just have to show you another of my birthday presents.  My daughter, Lauren,  knitted a pig for me.  Isn't he cute? 

He has the sweetest face and the cutest curly-Q tail.

Cutting Cafe Thanksgiving

I love the combination of one of my favorite cutie vintage images with The Cutting Cafe's Thanksgiving Day set.  The Happy Thanksgiving frame and the November circle are from that set. 

There are a lot of great images in the set including a very darling turkey!  I dyed some seam binding ribbon to match and wrapped it all up with twine from Papertrey Ink and a vintage button.  The papers are October Afternoon.   The punch at the top is from Martha Stewart.  I used one of the sentiments from Thanksgiving Day inside:  There's always something to be thankful for.   I'm so very thankful my husband and I got to spend the weekend with our daughter and her husband and my mom and dad.  We did some antique hunting (got Lauren a pretty coffee table) and did some good eating!  I love being with them all!
