Visions of Sugarplums 2017 Challenge

Welcome to the Visions of Sugarplums challenge.  The theme is Christmas/Winter.  Link up new projects by December 16th.

The prize is a $20.00 gift certificate to Mama Elephant.
Check out this darling polar bear made with dies from Mama Elephant.

He's just so sweet holding a candy cane.  Wouldn't he make a great stocking stuffer or gift for a Secret Santa?

Cut two bears.  Mine are 5" long.  Make sure your paper strip is a little longer than what you want to end up with.  (I just realized that this is the kitty die, but it doesn't make any difference.  The bear just has rounder ears!)

Decorate the face.  (The eyes from this one are actually cut using the gingerbread eyes from Paper Sweeties.)

Then cut two strips of paper that are 7/8" by 2 1/4 inches.  Round one end.  These will be the arms.  About 1 3/4" shows in the front and the rest is folded to the back of the bear and glued.  Glue the arms together in the front (not to the body of the bear).

The bow on the candy cane keeps it from falling out the bottom.

Glue the second bear shape onto the back covering where the arms are glued to the back.

This is the back of mine.

If you would like a chance to win more prizes and get great Christmas ideas.  Come take a look at Visions of Sugarplums (December 2 - 4).  Find the first day HERE.

Looking forward to seeing your Christmas/Winter creations!  Link up your projects here:

St.Patrick's Day Cards + Free Darling Image+Challenge #4

How are you?  I've seen Lauren twice in one week (they stopped last week on their way to New Orleans and stopped again on their way back), so I'm feeling pretty lucky!   I hope you're feeling as lucky as me!

I've got a couple of St.Patrick's Day cards to share today.  I just finished all the pre-orders for St. Patrick's Day this weekend and will be mailing and delivering them next week.

I really like the look of this shamrock.  At first, I wasn't sure about all the different green hues, but I decided to go with it.  I just gathered old papers that I've always liked and cut hearts.

What really makes this shamrock cool, is the folding and rolling of the hearts, which adds a lovely layer.
I used a heart die, but if you don't have one, I've got a pattern for you below.

If you would like a pattern for the hearts and stem, you can get it HERE.

Oh, she makes me smile!  She's so sweet collecting Shamrocks in her apron.

If you would like to create a little something with this darling girl, you can download her HERE.

How about a new challenge?

Link up any project related to St. Patrick's Day or has the color green.  Link up by March 16th.  One winner is chosen by random selection by InLinkz.  Prize is a $20.00 gift certificate to Papertrey Ink!

Find the challenge HERE or scroll down one post.

Are you feeling lucky?  You might win the prize - link up now!

Have a lovely week...

Guest Design for Decorate to Celebrate!

Thank you Rhonda and Amy from Decorate to Celebrate for inviting me to guest design for this week's challenge:  Kid-Themed Birthday Party!  Be sure and check out their fun challenge blog for all the details on the theme and prize.  I created a table decoration for a little girl's one-year-old circus birthday.
I started out with a card that included the train car and the tiger.  I enlarged it and played around with it until I could use both the train car and the tiger.  The train cars are made from chipboard and the wheels are glued to wooden spools.  I looked through my stash and came up with a couple of other animals to use.
(The zebra is an image from All Time Fashions.)
These were fun to do and actually came together pretty easily considering I wasn't sure if it would even work!

I would like to send a thank you to The Ribbon Reel Challenge blog for selecting my Sweetie Pie card as their winning card for their last challenge and to Craft Junkie Too for featuring it on Friday!   Thank you, also, to Mary from Very Merry Vintage Style for featuring my bird and teacups card!

And guess what?  I received a wonderful surprise in the mail!  It came from Rhonda of Decorate to Celebrate.  She sent me one of her famous mini albums.

Gift from Rhonda:
Isn't it fabulous?  Thank you, thank you, Rhonda, for such a sweet gift!

Hi, Sweetie Pie!

Meet Lulu.  Isn't she cute?  I'm sure some of you already know her, but she's new to me.  I found her at Stamping Bella.
The cherry postcard and background paper are from Iralamija's shop.  The cherry and sentiment stamps are from Papertrey Ink.  I'm going to link this up at The Ribbon Reel Challenge blog.  Here's the challenge:  has to include fruit, a brad, and two ribbons, lace or twine.  I think I got it all - my brad is the pretty pink gem wrapped around the bows.
One of the things I remember from childhood is my mom making cherry pie.  She actually just made it for Father's Day, too...Yummy!

Fun news:  I was featured at Paper Issues yesterday!  Thank you Paper Issues!  And also at Decorate to Celebrate!  Thank you so much!

Have your cake...

Hope everyone's having a wonderful Mother's Day!  I have some pictures to post for the things I made for my mom, but I'm not going to be able to give them to her until tomorrow.  Hi, Mom!   I had a surprise package from Amazon a couple of days ago.  I order books all the time, so I really didn't think it was a surprise.  When I opened the box however, there was a very pretty tin of English Breakfast Tea!  I immediately said to Dennis, " But, I didn't order any tea!"  Then, I looked at the little slip of paper which said Happy Mother's Day from Lauren and Paul.  How fun is that - I love surprises!

Lauren loves old cookbooks and pamphlets.  I found a Bakers Chocolate pamphlet in great condition.  I scanned some of the pages to use on future projects.  I finally remembered that I had the scans.
The challenge at Moving Along With the Times is CAKE!  So, I used a page from the pamphlet along with the picture of the great chocolate layer cake.  Here's the inside:
I also really like the blue discs that I picked up at Joann's sometime in the past.  They match this paper perfectly!  Have a great week!
