I'm participating in the CR84FN challenge over at Cupcake's Creations.  Just look at the gorgeous colors:

Here's my take.

  I just love these sweet little angels. 

 This card has a lot of my favorites:  blue and pink, dyed scrunched seam binding ribbon, vintage image and button, glitter...Oh, don't forget the doily!  All of those things just make me happy! 

Blue Christmas

The theme over at City Crafter's is Blue Christmas.  Linda, this week's host, said that it made her think of Elvis and I have to confess that's exactly who I thought of, too!   My parents listened to Elvis a lot and I must say, I still like to hear him!  I haven't had a chance to play along at City Crafter's in awhile and I was determined to find a minute to play along this week.  My contribution to Blue Christmas is one of my soldered ornaments. 

 I certainly need some advice on taking pictures of these!  It seems no matter what I do, I get glare or can see my camera in the picture!

Do you see my pink camera reflected in the lower right corner?  I reduced and printed one of my vintage images and glittered it to represent snow.  I just love this little girl and snowman.  They are so cute and make me happy!   I use Silver Gleem for my soldering - it's so bright and shiny.

The Pixie Dust December Kit Times Square Twenty Eleven has some beautiful papers.  I combined some of them to make my Thanks a Bunch card.  Love, love the color combination of pink and black.  The ribbons in this kit are gorgeous...you can see the two seam binding ribbons on this card.

  And look at the beautiful flower centers from Prima!  You get a whole package.  I used my Spellbinders dies and Martha Stewart punch to get the frames and border.

1.  In June, my husband, Dennis and I will be married for 30 years!

2.  My daughter, Lauren, is grown and gone.  I miss her!

3.  We live in a house that is 101 years old.

4.  Our neighborhood is a Preservation area.

5.  I work at Triangle A & E, which is a reproduction company that also sells art supplies.

6.  My parents are retired and I get to see them a lot more now!

7.  Dennis and I love to go to antique stores (not that we need any more antiques).

8.  I'm very happy...thankful for my friends and family, my job, and the time I have to create!

The first challenge will be in February, but the site is up and running, so check out the details.   One thing I really like about it, is that it is an "anything goes" challenge blog (card, layout, altered item....).  I always like the freedom of that!

Soldered Ornament

Hi!  It's been a great weekend...but I think it might be possible to blow away today!  Lauren and Paul left Saturday...it seems quiet here.  I've been soldering  most of the last two days.  Lots of special orders to fill.  Here's one of this year's ornaments.

  The image is a vintage one from my collection.  There's a little bit of a glare at the top of the ornament...hard to get a good picture of something glass!  The back is stamped manila folder. 

 When it was finished, I polished it up and added some pretty red ribbon at the top and crystals to the bottom.  I noticed that the challenge at Paper Issues includes Christmas, so I think I'll post this over there, too.  Looking forward to a great week!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Here are a couple of pictures of the table.

I just love, love these turkey plates.  They make me happy to take them out of the cabinet and put them on the table.  They just seem festive!  I was very honored to have my placecard featured on the Paper Issues blog yesterday.  This is our front entry with our fall flowers and the paperback pumpkin I made last year.
