Harpy Birthday, designed by Big Bear & Bird for Waffle Flower is cute, quirky and fun! And yes, that is H-A-R-P-Y. Seriously, a dog playing the harp! Who thinks of things like that? Today, as guest designer for Waffle Flower, I've got a fun card and a video for you.
I colored up the dog and harp with copics and created a fun heart background by creating my own stencils with heart dies and distress inks.

Of course, this little guy is giving chocolates, which is perfect. My husband and Louisa are totally into chocolates. I stumbled upon Louis Sherry chocolates, which are wonderful - if a little pricey. And the tins are so pretty. When we finish off the chocolates, Louisa loves to play with the tins. (That's how I justify the price: my granddaughter loves the tins!)
I couldn't resist putting my favorite doily die in the background and that cool heart rosette front and center. Waffle Flower's dies make the heart rosette so easy! Hi, there! It's been awhile since I posted. I've had quite a bit to do and not had enough time to do it all. I've delivered all my Halloween and Thanksgiving orders and am now working on all the Christmas. My goal is to get all Christmas orders delivered before Thanksgiving. Wish me luck!

I've had this curvy box die for a few years now. I actually use it quite a bit. It's just a fun little box. Stampin' Up doesn't have this one anymore, but it does have an even smaller curvy box. It is adorable, but I decided that I really didn't need it since I have this one!

Halloween! What fond memories - from my childhood and when Lauren was little we threw the funnest Halloween parties, complete with games and trick or treating. Last night, Lauren told me that Louisa is going to be a skunk this year. I'll have to see if I can put together a skunk Halloween card!
These critters aren't skunks, but they are adorable! I had a lot of fun coloring them. The mummy rabbit is so cute!
The background on this card is really cool! It's basic distress ink blending with a layer of microfine warm highlights glitter on top. I've got a video showing this technique and a few tips along the way. Here's the video:
With Lauren getting Louisa's skunk costume from Pottery Barn Kids, I don't have to make a Halloween costume this year. I wouldn't mind making one, but I'm kind of glad that's one thing to cross off my list. What are your Halloween plans this year? Thank you for stopping by!
This all started with a request for a birthday card. They like my vintage image cards so I picked an adorable Agnes Richardson image. Then I wanted to use a stencil and didn't really see one in my stash that was exactly what I wanted. So, I got carried away making my own stencils from background dies and really like the results! I love this sweet image of the girl with her cat. I think she's a companion for another girl - you can see the card I made with her HERE. She has polka dot hair and well, so does this one! Polka dots on her sweater, the leaves and the cat, too!

I was going to say Welcome to the last post for Visions of Sugarplums in July, but it's August already! Christmas in August just doesn't have the same ring. Nevertheless, this is the last post for Visions of Sugarplums in July! I decided to join Spellbinders Die Hard club and the first set of dies I got was their Festive Wreath Slider. I've made sliding easel cards in the past and I must say that having the dies certainly makes it easier!

Aren't those carolers adorable? The Christmas tree is fun - each layer is a separate die. You can't really see it in the photo, but there is a lovely layer of glitter that really makes this card shine! Watch the Caroling Critters Sliding Easel Card video here:

Hi, there! I just had the best week and half! I'm sure you've already guessed that I had Louisa. More on that a little later...
I've wanted to make a tag book with sleeping Louisa pictures for a long time. Speaking of a long time, I started the tags a few weeks ago and just finished them up today. The tag dies that I used from Pinkfresh Studio are just gorgeous and the little bunnies from Mama Elephant are just adorable.
When Louisa was little bitty, they lived in Denver. I was flying every other week to Denver. When it was time for me to go home, they would drive me to Union Station to catch a train to the airport. Louisa would always fall asleep. I took many adorable photographs of Louisa as I was getting out of the car. In the picture on the right, she's about a year and half. At that point, they lived in Savannah. This was the first time, Louisa flew with me to OKC to stay for awhile. She never slept for long on the plane, but she was so sweet!
This little square tag was made with a slide die from The Stamp Market.

This is the most recent sleeping picture of Lousa. Lauren sent it to me a couple of weeks ago. It's harder to get a picture of her sleeping now. She only takes one nap and she seems to be sleeping a little lighter during naptime.
While Louisa was here, I took a lot of pictures and made her a tag book to take home and share with Mommy and Daddy. I never dreamed it would be such a hit.
The tags were so simple - just cut rectangle cardstock pieces, glued on the picture and wrote a few words. Louisa absolutely loved going through the book and she could "read" the words, because she knew exactly what she had done. When we got out of the car to meet her mommy and daddy, she ran to them with the tag book and made them look through it right then! So glad you stopped by!
Birthdays are always fun! They're are even more fun when everyone can get together. My daughter's birthday and my mom's birthday are one day apart, so we tend to celebrate them at the same time. I made this card for Lauren. I sent it to her in Wichita, because we didn't get together until a week after her birthday. So I thought a paper hug would be fun!
I'm calling this card design a Z Fold Window Pass Thru card. The Z fold part of the card is pulled through the opening of the base card. I like making cards that are a little different from the standard fold.
I think this mouse kind of looks like he's opening his arms for a hug. The mice are simply colored with copics and a couple of Staedtler Fine Liners for the little details like eyes, noses and glasses. I've got a video below on making a Z Fold Window Pass Thru Card. It's not hard at all!
