Paper Sweeties 6th Birthday!

Hi!  Paper Sweeties is 6!  Thank you, Debbie, for asking me to join your celebration.  I had so much fun creating my projects!  (Check out the video below for the mini cupcake cards.)

To celebrate being six, Paper Sweeties has a Challenge contest running through 11:59 pm EST on August 31st. The lucky winner will receive a $100 shopping spree at Paper Sweeties! Gallery viewers will vote by 'liking' their favorite projects and choosing the winner.  To link up your new celebration/birthday inspired projects, click here: Paper Sweeties.  The winner will be announced September 1st.

Paper Sweeties even has an inspiration photo for you:

Pretty color combination!

My first project is this sweetie pie dog - isn't he cute?  I love the little heart shape at his tail!

He's simply colored - just one copic (except for his cheeks).  I randomly added colored areas to get that spotted look.  I also really love the slightly wonky scallop frame - one of my new favorites!

You can see I made use of the rectangle (slightly wonky) scallop frame for these mini cupcake cards - aren't they sweet?  The watercolor is so simple and I'm really liking the monochromatic theme.  At first, I wasn't sure that there was enough contrast between the cupcakes and the background, but then I felt like they were so soft and pretty.

Here's the video on the mini watercolor cupcake cards:

Don't forget to link up for a chance on that $100 shopping spree at Paper Sweeties!  So glad you stopped by to celebrate Paper Sweeties turning six!

Visions of Sugarplums 2017 Day Two

Welcome back!  Wasn't it fun yesterday hopping around to see all the Christmas goodies?

It's Day Two of Visions of Sugarplums.  We've got lots of projects for you to see today.  Don't forget that the more hopping and commenting you do, the better the chance of winning one of our prizes.

Seriously adorable!  Love the cuteness of this little car.  It's a cut file from The Cutting Cafe
(Thank you, Regina, for being one of our sponsors).

Here's how I put it together:

I used circle dies to cut the tires.   The silver glitter piece is 3/8" and then cut to fit the length of the car.

How about another cute little car and tree? And I have to say I love that cool doodle frame, too.  (These stamps and dies come from Lawn Fawn - a sponsor of VOSP.)  The pretty blue paper comes from another sponsor, AmyJDelightful.

I found it easier to just cut out the middle and ink it up rather than trying to mask off the rest of the frame.

After putting all the tag pieces together.  I used Copic Opaque White to create some snow.  Just dotted it on with small paintbrush.

On this closeup, you can see the snowflakes made with Copic Opaque White.

Mistletoe 50 cents and Kisses For Free!  Do you see my smile?  I think that sentiment is so cute.  The stamps and dies are all from Paper Sweeties (Thank you, Debbie for sponsoring VOSP).  Such a sweet kitty and tiny bird.  The paper is from Amy again.

I inked up a circle and layered it on top of the scallop tag.  I didn't cut the middle out of this one.  Just die cut a circle and layered it on top.

The kitty has been cut off to fit the curve of the circle.

Here is a great idea for easy packaging.  Envelope bags!  I think they're a great idea and I use them a lot.

Seriously that's it!  Seal the envelope and cut off one end.  Instant gift bag!

Of course, the mice tags are a little more involved.  You can see the base of the tags were made the same as the one above.

Tip:  The mice have a very nice texture.  I sponged the ink onto the stamp, instead of putting the ink pad direct to the stamp.

Christmas Holiday Blog Hop with Paper Sweeties

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Christmas Countdown!  Lots of fun and inspiration to be had.  Thank you for asking me to be a part of it, Debbie!

Check out the Paper Sweeties Blog for all the blog links and daily specials.  You'll be glad you did!

Homespun Holidays is one of my favorite stamp sets.  A few years ago, I made a cute shrinky-dink charm with the reindeer.  You can see it HERE.  (Ignore those blurry pictures!)

Homespun Holidays is absolutely perfect for creating a tag for this pretty plaid bag.

I picked up what I thought were plaid Christmas dish towels from Target.   When I got home, I saw they were marked "placemats".  I guess they could be used for either one.  It doesn't matter, I had another idea in mind, anyway!

I folded it in half lengthwise and cut off a section with pinking shears.  Then I just sewed each side.  Quick and easy bag!   Fill it up and tie a bow around it.  And add that cute reindeer tag, of course!

Next up is this sweet little snow girl - isn't her outfit cute?  The background is batting that I had left over from some project long ago.  I love the sentiment:  You Melt My Heart.

Let's go check out the daily special at Paper Sweeties...

Paper Sweeties 4th Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Paper Sweeties!  Congratulations, Debbie, on 4 happy years!  I'm so happy to be participating in the Paper Sweeties 4th Birthday blog hop.  My how the years have flown by...

To celebrate the birthday theme, I've created a shaker birthday card with some adorable Paper Sweeties stamps.  You can see them all linked in the supplies list below.  I've created a black and white background scene - or more accurately a silver and white scene with pops of color on top.

Look at that adorable kitty - isn't she the sweetest with those big eyes?  And I love the cupcake banner - so fun to color!

Here's the video how-to:

Let's celebrate some more:  One of my readers will win a Paper Sweeties gift certificate worth $10.00!

How do you win?  Just leave a comment on this post telling me that you would like to win
the Paper Sweeties Gift Certificate.  I'll select one reader by random selection.  I'll announce the winner on Sunday, August 14th.  Be sure that you come back to check and see if you're the winner.
