Santa Book Plates

Are you giving any books this year?  I love giving books at Christmas!  I just made some darling Santa Book Plates for the books I'm giving this year.  I love that Santa is reading a book - couldn't be more perfect.  You can download the sheet of Santa Book Plates below.

This is a stack of books for Charlotte (my daughter's niece).   I'm also going to package up some extra book plates for her to put inside the Christmas books that she already has.

You can type in the names before you print or they can be handwritten.   I printed them on sticker paper and then cut them out with a paper cutter.  Quick, easy and cute!

Have a wonderful Christmas!

I just love this pretty Christmas girl.  She's sitting on my credenza at work.  She's nice company, I must say!   I was lucky enough to snag her (along with some other wonderful vintage die cuts and bridge talleys) from one of my favorite shops, PuffaDonna.

If you want to make one of these, you can download her below.

You can make her pretty quickly:

1.  Print  her on sturdy cardstock (110 lb) and cut her out.
2.  Score right below the green stripe, so that the scallop will fold easily to become the base.
3.  Optional:  Print another bow, cut out and pop up.
4.  Add an easel to her back (I used a stick on).
5.  Optional:  Decorate.

Happy Visions of Sugarplums!

Visions of Sugarplums Day Three

Oh, Day Three already?!!  I always enjoy Visions of Sugarplums and this year is no exception.  Thank you to all of you who have visited our blogs and left such sweet comments!   Here goes one more day of Visions of Sugarplums projects...

First up is this adorable image from PPinky Dolls, one of this year's wonderful sponsors. I had the most fun watercoloring her - the whole time I kept thinking how sweet she is.  Well, Chrishanthi has a whole store of adorable digi stamps to choose from.  I also just got a couple of wood blocks with her art work.  Fabulous!  Go look, you'll see...

I made a very simple bag out of dotted vellum (4 1/4 x 11 folded in half and glued on each side).  I'm just tickled pink with this little project!

Next up, I'd like to introduce you to Baer Design Studio.  Brigitte has some beautiful papers.  This Christmas collection is gorgeous.  Be sure to visit, I'm sure you'll find many things to like.

I cut the reindeer out of one tag and popped him up on another pretty tag.  In the photo, you get a glimpse of the white brick paper that I wrapped around a pillow box.  It is quite lovely.

How about some fun with Lawn Fawn (another generous sponsor)?  I picked up these cute gingerbread men cookies at World Market while I was visiting my daughter in Wichita.  The Lawn Fawn gingerbread man is perfect!

A peek at the back.  Well, the back of the package anyway...

Lawn Fawn also has some adorable snowmen!  They're cute, right?

To get the snowman to stand on top of the box, I die cut two snowmen.  I glued a small piece of paper (about 1/4" x 1 1/2")  leaving about an 1" sticking out the botton that I could fold and insert into the middle of the snowflake and glue underneath.

I used the regular size pillow box die from Lawn Fawn and changed it into a square pillowbox.  I've got a quick video below showing how to do that.

I always give a big thank you to Visions of Sugarplums sponsors.  They are:

Visions of Sugarplums Day Two

So you came back for the second day - YAY!  Didn't you just love the wonderful projects from all the blogs yesterday?  I'm sure there will be awesomeness today, too!  I've got angels, santa, snowflakes and Rudolph - are you smiling already?

My first project today is an angels ornament.  I always do something with angels every Christmas.  I love pretty angels - I also like cute ones, too - as you'll see below!  This lovely angel ornament started with a beautiful gold doily.  I really love the gold and white.

I've got a couple of angel images for you to download below and a video on making these as well.

Let's stick with gold and white for a little while longer.

My next project is all about this gorgeous image from Moonlighting & Co. - one of our sponsors.  Go visit Mary and take a look at her beautiful things - I bet you can't resist something!

I created a bag out of an envelope (just seal it up and cut off one end).

Then slipped it in an embossing folder - off to one side - and ran it through my Big Shot.  It's really pretty (but you have to look really closely at the photo to see it)!

Next up, take a look at that wonderful snowflake lattice.  Don't you love it?  It is a cut file from The Cutting Cafe.  Regina is the lovely owner and always generously sponsors Visions of Sugarplums.  Go by The Cutting Cafe and you're sure to find just the right cut file (or maybe you might like her new stamps!).

I've got the sentiment for you to download below - in three colors!

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose...  My cherry sours don't really glow, but they do taste really good and seem like perfectly good Rudolph noses to me!

I'm really proud of this printable.  It's based on an old 3M tape package that came home with me a couple of years ago from work.  We were doing some major cleaning out and I drug home an awesome old typewriter.  And hidden inside was the old 3M package.

And then to make this tag really awesome - I found My Clip Art Store.  Which is where I found that adorable reindeer and the star.  You can download Spare Rudolph Noses below.

So easy and cute - just print out, cut, hole punch and tie!

Just one more project and we can go look at everybody else's!

See I told you - that is one cute angel!   LOVE the reindeer weathervane and the tiny hiney!
She's just waiting for you to download her.  Get her below.

Visions of Sugarplums Day One

It's Day One of Visions of Sugarplums!   So glad you've come by.  Settle in - this is a long post, maybe get a coffee or tea, and enjoy!  We've got quite a line up of talented bloggers sharing Christmas inspiration!

First up, I've got the cutest Christmas Wreath!  Isn't this fun - it's made from a mason jar ring and crepe paper.  It reminds me of projects we did in grade school - wrapping crepe paper around the eraser end of the pencil to make the "poofs."  And that's exactly what I did!

You could use this as package decoration that the recipient could take off and hang on their tree.  Or like me, hang it on a desk drawer.  Love, love that sweet little deer!

Here's a video showing just how easy it is to make:

Next up:  the most adorable vintage Scotties!

I was lucky enough to pick up this cute vintage card from an etsy store.  You can download the scotties below.

I've also got a darling Scotty tag (he was on the inside of the card) and a very cool box for you to download. The papers are fabulous! I found them at Yellow Lemon Studios.  The box would be perfect for a gift card or small gift and a sweet note.  You can download the tag and box below.  Can you think of someone who would love to get this cute little box?

Here's a video showing how to put the box together:

I'll have one more project with these Scotties next Sunday - on the day we reveal all the winners for this year's Visions of Sugarplums!

Okay, one more project for today.  I am so in love with this card.  Those kids looking out the window at Santa are the cutest things ever!  You can download these darling kids below. And the card itself is very cool.  It's a sliding easel card.

Look at it from the side - love how this works!

This is a look at the part that you pull to make the easel fold up.  So fun!

Here's the video on making a Sliding Easel Card:
