Release Day: My Time Made Easy

It's release day at My Time Made Easy. You can find all the June goodies in the new section at the store. Today, I'm showcasing the Trendy Turtle template.  Isn't this a darling gift box?  I have to say that shell is way cool!

I don't think I could have figured out the design for this, but it goes together beautifully!  I mentioned yesterday that I love the blue gingham.  I think it made a darling turtle!

I thought he would look smashing in a party hat (of course, he wanted to look festive to carry his treat) and a red ribbon. The final touch was a little tag to tell what he's all about...

I used the Well Rounded Tag cut file and Yummy Sentiments stamp set.

And he does have a yummy treat!  The whole crew has wonderful June creations for you today.  Be sure to take a look:

Recycle, Re-Purpose & Re-Invent

Guess what?  I get to announce that I'm on the design team for CS Designs!!  I'm so excited - Chris's images are cool, mod, appealing, and wonderful all at the same time.  She has a couple of challenge blogs and this post is for Recyle, Re-Purpose & Re-Invent.   The  main theme is Anything Goes (with some item recycled) and the bonus theme is Heavy Metal (recycle something metal in your project).

I printed Metal and Screws on linen.  It really gave her a cool texture.  Then as you can probably tell I repurposed a doorknob and some screws.

Love the metal plate tags - aren't they cool?

I hope you'll come play along at Recycle, Re-Purpose & Re-Invent.  You've got all month to join us.

The Happy Camper: My Time Made Easy

Okay, this is a happy little camper.  It's got snow, a wreath, and a tree - of course, it's happy! Today is Preview Day for the June release at My Time Made Easy.   It's all about the new Happy Camper template.  I must have been in a Christmas frame of mind when I began working on this...it just seemed right, you know?

So it got all those happy Christmas things, including a reindeer to pull it!

The reindeer is a Pretty Pieces cut file called My Deer Friend - he's a cutie.  You can find him in the store.

I thought awhile about what to put inside and I remembered this fun snowman s'more that one of the homeroom moms brought to Lauren's kindergarten.  (Now that was a long time ago, she's 26!  I can't even remember the mom's name.)  It's two fudge stripe cookies and a marshmallow with icing nose and eyes.

The instruction tag is made with the Cover-up A Card cut file and the sentiment is from a new stamp set So Much S'more.   I love gingham (the blue picnic is new from the S'more S'mores set) and this blue is so very pretty.

The snowman s'more fits snugly inside my Happy Camper.   Here you can see how it opens.  The snow stumped me at first, but I glued the overhang to the felt on the top.   How fun is this template?

Can't wait to see what everybody else does!  Check out their creations:

Art, Mystery & Imagination

Last week, I posted my first card using CS Designs.  I mentioned how much I love her images!  When I saw this one, I thought about my cool envelopes that I got at a vintage sale.  (I think they're from the 70s!)  It just so happened that an art teacher aquaintance asked me to do a small gift that she could give to some friends of hers (all art teachers).  I decided this image was perfect.

I created an envelope holding bookmarks for her to give away.

Each bookmark is made with this wonderful art image and sentiment from CS Designs.

Set off on kraft, the image really stands out.  I hear they were a huge hit!  Thank goodness - I always worry a bit over special orders!

Sweet Strawberry Box for The Cutting Cafe

Strawberries, pink gingham...perfect for me!   This week we are all showcasing strawberries.  This sweet, little box is from the Strawberry Treat Box set at The Cutting Cafe.

Super easy to put together and just the right size for a couple of chocolate covered strawberries.  (Which were yummy, by the way!)  I slipped the strawberries into the small size cupcake holders and lined the box with a doily.

The tag is also from the Strawberry Treat Box set.  The set comes with all the decorative pieces and lots of tags, so you can pick the best one for your project.

Today is Memorial Day here in America.  Even though we have a reminder almost every day of the sacrifices and devastation of war, today is a day for us to remember and be thankful collectively as a country.  Thank you to those (past and present) who have given their service to our country.

All of the strawberry projects will be posted at The Cutting Cafe blog on Wednesday.  Through Tuesday, it is buy one, get one (for equal or less value) free at The Cutting Cafe.  This would be a great time to check out all the goodies!  So glad you stopped by and have a wonderful week!

Dare to be Different

How is your week going?  I should be cleaning up, but it's just so easy to find something way more interesting to do.  Speaking of interesting, and unique, and cool, have you visited CS Designs?  Wow, LOVE the images!

This one is called Pirouette and isn't she darling?  I could see so many possibilities, I had a hard time deciding on her colors.  But, I think she's happy with how it turned out.  Hopefully, she's like me and really loves these colors!

Pirouette is going to be linked up for the Anything Goes challenge at Art With No Bounderies.  Are you cleaning up or did you also find something more interesting to do?

Just Bee-cause at The Cutting Cafe

It's bees this week at The Cutting Cafe.  This set is darling and I think just perfect for a little "Just Bee-cause" gift of Burt Bee's lip balm.  It's called Beehive Shaped Card Set and comes with bees, a beehive, sentiments, background papers, and cut files!

I also used The Cutting Cafe's Seed Packet cut file to create this gift.   That file comes with all kinds of goodies, including 3 different seed packet styles.  I wrapped the Burt's Bees in plastic and pulled it through the opening and used a small clothespin to hold it and the sentiment.

I always think of Lauren (my daughter) when I see Burt's Bees.  She always liked it, even when she was little.  I keep a lip balm in my purse, so everytime I use it, I think of her.  It's so funny how memories are wrapped up in little things...

Love this darling bee and hive - even better that I cut them with my cricut instead of by hand!  Be sure to check out The Cutting Cafe blog - Regina is always giving away one (or more) of her awesome sets and on Wednesday she'll be showcasing DT creations using the Beehive set.  So glad you stopped by and here's wishing you a wonderful week!

Sweet Linen Bag

My sewing machine was feeling a little neglected, so I decided to whip up a little linen bag.  I haven't quite decided what's going inside, but now I've got something special to gift up a little something when I do.

Love the linen and the sweet blue fabric.  I added a pocket on the front so I could slip in a tag.

I think "sweet" everytime I look at it!  Those little flowers and polka dots just say "sweet" to me.

It was so fun putting this together.  It was one of those things that just seemed to fall together - don't you like it when that happens?  The linen rose was even easy...

Hope you're having a wonderful week.  I'm posting this right before I head off to work.  So glad you stopped by!

Mom

Moms are so important.  It's amazing the influence they have on the family.  Mom has got to be one of the most rewarding, scariest, and hardest jobs there is!   I learned early on that I, more than anyone else, set the mood in our family.  You've heard the saying, "If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."  I think there's more truth to that than we realize.  I'm very lucky that my mom is a wonderful mom and set a great example for me to follow.  Now, I'm not saying that I always get it right (I hear Lauren laughing at the idea)!  But I really do try!

This card is made with a set available at Rhonna Farrer's Designs.   It's actually a banner set.  I used the banner to create the background of the card.

I know I've told you before, but I am so blessed with all my family.   How wonderful that I've never questioned my mother's love and support for me.  I know a lot of people don't have that safety net.  Here I am, close to 50 years old and I know she's still amazingly important.  Love you, Mom!

Pretty Pinwheels at The Cutting Cafe

What is it about pinwheels?  Seriously, what is it?  Everytime I see one, I smile.  Regina has a new pinwheel cut file available at The Cutting Cafe.  And this is so funny, I thought I had an original idea with a pinwheel wreath...uh, no...I found several out there in blogland.  Great minds think alike?  Or maybe, it's just a love of pinwheels...

How about these papers?

They are from the new French General collection.  Rich reds and blues -  so pretty!

The pinwheel template made this super easy to put together.  By the way, the pinwheel set comes with straight and scalloped pinwheels and sentiments, too! I cut twelve pinwheels and slid the opposite corners onto a brad.  I used a 12" styrofoam wreath.
I used straight pins to place the pinwheels and hot glued buttons into place.  One thing I'm going to do is wrap the styrofoam with a pretty blue or red ribbon.  Regina will be adding the DT projects to The Cutting Cafe blog on Wednesday night.  I'm sure there will be lots of pinwheels to make me smile!

Kirby Cards

Hi, everybody!  Well, I'm happy to say I finally got my car washed today!  Everytime I thought about washing it, it either was raining or looked like rain.  My poor car was AWFUL!!!  While I was waiting on it, I kept watching this darling little (I'd say three years old) girl run around outside and I kept worrying a car was going to run over her.  Then when her mother's car was ready, her mom takes off for the car and leaves the little one trailing after her.  Instead of waiting at the car for her mom to open the door, she runs off behind the car and runs into Northwest Highway.  I about had a heart attack!!   Her mom runs after her and yells and spanks, and carrys on like crazy.  To me, it was obviously the mom's fault - why on earth would she let that little one anywhere near cars without holding her hand?????  Sorry for the rant, but PLEASE!!!  On to happier things...

Kirby, a guy I work with, special orders a lot of cards from me.   Here are a couple I've done for him recently.  This one is for his anniversary.
The bird image is from doll face design.  I also did this one for his son, who just graduated with his MBA.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

A Year in Review: My Time Made Easy

As I said yesterday:  Love.  This.  (Bloomin' Wonderful) Template.  And this little party favor or party cracker is one of the reasons why!

This is two Bloomin' Wonderful templates from the My Time Made Easy May release - one slipped inside the other.  Again, this is at 60 percent the template's normal size.  I simply rolled one a tiny bit tighter than the other so it would easily slip inside.  That makes the little cracker perfect:  just slide out one end.  No destroying the pretty creation to get at what's inside...  Here is a shot showing one side part way out:

And all the way:

I thought you might want to see an end shot:

Here you can see the black paper I printed on the other side of the pink.  These are both from the Serenity Pretty Impressions paper.  How about one more project using the same papers and that darling butterfly?

The butterfly is from the Bloom Builders Cut File.  The heart was cut using the Flag Em' Cut File.    This party favor clip is also a magnet.  I put a little magnet on the back of the clothespin.

Easy and cute!  I put my daughter's name on it.  We'll be seeing her soon and I just imagine I'll have a little something to slip inside the glassine bag!

There is a lot of inspiration to enjoy today:
