Christmas in April for Paper Sweeties

To see a VERY CUTE TENNIS SHOE designed for My Time Made Easy, scroll down one post.  Thank you!

I don't know what it was about the Paper Sweeties challenge sketch this month that made me think Christmas - but it did.  And then when I found this little hexagon box just begging to be used, I decided the sketch could go 3-D.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my Christmas box:

The sentiment is from Wagon Add-on #1.

I painted really pale gray stripes (hard to see in the photo) on paper and then drew red lines to create the grid on the bottom of the box.  The scotty is a cut file from Lettering Delights.

Be sure to see other wonderful ideas using this sketch at the Paper Sweeties Blog.

And don't miss this special:  To help kick off this month's new sketch challenge, Paper Sweeties is offering FREE SHIPPING today ONLY on your orders ... use FREE SHIPPING coupon code at checkout to redeem your discount!

So glad you came by today!

(Don't forget to check out the tennis shoe below.)

Heart and Sole at MTME

Tennis shoes or sneakers?  Whatever you call them, they've been around for a long time.  It was 1892 when the US Rubber Company created Keds.  I bet most of us have more than one pair.  Today is the April release at My Time Made Easy.   It includes this adorable tennis shoe template called Sole-Mate.  I used some of my tennis shoes as the inspiration.

I've had these for years and love the pink and green.  I decided a paper tennis shoe like these would be very fun! The gingham paper is from Grammy's Pretty Patterns and the hearts are cut using the Flag 'Em Down cut file.

The heart and sole sentiment is from a new set of digital stamps - Sole-mates.  And how about a cute birthday card to go along with the tennis shoe?

You can see the entire April Release in the New Products section of the store.  Come back tomorrow to see another "sole" creation here and in the meantime enjoy the creations on these blogs:

Easter Goodies

I was walking by the dollar bins at Michaels - you don't really believe that do you?  I should own up and say I was digging through the dollar bins at Michaels and these cute Mary Engelbreit cupcake wrappers caught my eye.  I also have to confess I brought them home and promptly forgot all about them.  Later, I also brought home these oh, so sweet mini Lindt chocolate bunnies.  I mean, how could I not?  That cute, little tasty bunny needed a cute little basket, right? That's when the cupcake liners came to mind.

These are soooo easy to make.  Place a circle of cardstock or chipboard in the bottom of the cupcake liner to give some support.  Hot glue a piece of chenille stem to form a handle.  Pink a strip of crepe paper, add a line of glue around the top of the cupcake liner, and gather up the crepe paper gluing it in as you go.  Add easter grass and that oh, so sweet honey bunny.  Easy...  I think everyone needs one!

Here are a couple more Easter projects I haven't shared yet:

Love these laser cut frames (can't pass them up at Michaels either).

And this card with a sweet image from Iralamija shop.

Have a wonderful Easter and thank you for stopping by!

Easy Easter Bags

Bunnies and easter eggs - a combination that causes smiles!  And these are easy!  I really like making my own treat bags, that way they are the color and size that I want.  Picky?  Probably - can't help it, I like getting my way!

Print paper that you really like on plain 'ole copy paper - it's actually the perfect weight.  This paper is from Clip Art Corner.  Determine the size you want.  I cut the copy paper right down the middle vertically, folded it up, pinked the top, and sewed up the sides.  The decoration can be as simple or elaborate as you want it to be.

If you would like, you can find this cute bunny at svgcuts.com. It's from the Spring Bunnies set.  Add some decorated eggs (just simply stickers from Michaels)  filled with goodies and you're ready to cause a smile!

Vintage Images from Nicecrane Designs

Hi, everybody!  Hope you're having a great weekend.  Just dropping in to show a couple of creations using images from Nicecrane Designs.   First up is darling Mary with her lamb following her to school from the Mother Goose Collection I. Well...I decided that this would also make a cute large Easter tag.

The Easter word is from Silhouette and the flower was cut with Papertrey Ink dies.

Next up is a Dolly Dingle image that reminds me of my mom and dad.  Not because they look like Dolly Dingles, but because they moved to a little lake several years ago and really enjoy fishing and all the wildlife.

I had so much fun coloring this cute little couple.  They are from G. Drayton Nursery Rhymes. Here's a look at the two sets these images are a part of:

So glad you stopped by!

How About A "Choux" Box?

You may have noticed the name of my blog is choux choux.  People ask me about it all the time.  It's pronounced shoo shoo.  It's a french term of endearment - "my little cabbage" -  which is a lot like Americans calling their children sweet little pun'kins.  What is it with fruits and vegetables?  My daughter actually named my blog for me because she thought I made cute little things.

So now the choux box has been invented.   It's goodies that come in a box from me!  Choux boxes are fun to get - it will be a happy mail day!  Choux boxes are VERY limited.  Only three available this time! Introducing the first choux box:

What do you get in the Easter choux box?  A vintage nut cup basket, a yellow chick, blue seam binding ribbon, vintage floral pin, so sweet flag, cream paper curls - everything you see to make this sweet little Easter basket.

What does it cost?  $7.95 (+ actual shipping).

How do you get it?  Email me at lhairston@cox.net that you want one.  First come, first served.  I'll send you a return email.  Pay with Paypal and I'll mail you your Easter choux box.

I found these darling nut cups in Wichita while visiting my daughter.  They are in great shape and make perfect little Easter baskets.   So glad you stopped by!

Darling Girl/Cute Puppy

What is it about puppies?  Yesterday on NPR a girl was telling the story about her dad creating a Puppy Channel back when cable was new.  He had noticed a group of people around a cage of puppies being given away and how entranced they all were.

This sweet image is from Nicecrane Designs.  It's got a lot going for it - not only the cute puppy, but a darling girl, too!

Here's a preview of the Sweet Girls set:

Have a great week!

Happy St. Pats Day!

Have you seen the cuties on Google doing the Irish jig?   We're all Irish today!  I actually have a bit of Irish from my mom's side of the family.

I used a couple of vintage images on these cards and stamps from Verve and Papertrey Ink.

Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Emma's Easter clothes and basket are from the Jelly Bean Time stamp set.   The flowers in her hair are actually decoration from an Easter hat.  The egg treat box is from Silhouette.  I popped Emma onto a clothespin so that she could help keep the treat box closed.

Basket Full of Love for Paper Sweeties

To see the Zebra gift basket for Craft Us Crazy, scroll down one post.  Thank you.

Berry Basket turned Easter basket?  What do you think?  I love these turquoise berry baskets and when I saw the darling Easter stamps from Paper Sweeties, I thought it a perfect match!

I stamped the eggs from the Jelly Bean Time stamp set onto patterned paper and sewed them together to make a banner.

Colored the bunny (from Hippity Hoppity) with copics (just lightly with gray and pink) and popped him onto a plastic egg.

Be sure to check out the Paper Sweeties March Facebook Event! for fun contests and giveaways.  Also you get free shipping on orders placed through March 16th.  The Paper Sweeties blog offers a lot of inspiration, so be sure to check it out!  See you there...

Fancy Monograms at Paper Sweeties

Wait 'til you see these pretty petite monograms at Paper Sweeties!    I've been wanting to make a little journal to keep in my purse.  A lot of times I see something that triggers an idea and I have no where to keep track of it.  I'm sure I could probably use my phone - but I prefer the "old school" method for this!

This is a moleskine journal that's been hanging around for awhile.  The edge is wrapped with kraft tape.  I used the Upper and Lower Alphas stamps to create the tabs:  design, color, and etc...  Here's a closer look at the tabs:

Be sure to visit the Paper Sweeties blog today for more wonderful ideas!  And the Paper Sweeties store to see the Fancy Monograms and all the other stamps in the March Release.  Come back here tomorrow to see more ideas with the new stamps.  Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Rabbits for NiceCrane

Soft and sweet - that's what came to mind when I saw this darling image at Nicecrane Designs.

I knew it would make the sweetest Easter card.  The sentiment is a stamp from a new set at Paper Sweeties.  I ended up printing the image three times so I would have pieces to layer.

Here you can see the preview for the Vintage Easter Bunnies set with some of the other images too:

Have a lovely day!

Top O' the Morning to You!

Top O' the Morning to You and a little chocolate, too!  Pretending to be Irish is even more fun with chocolate involved!

You may remember last month's Valentine Kiss Countdown.  I found that Qbees Quest has another wonderful idea for Kisses and St. Pat's Day.  That would be the Hershey Kiss Shamrock - she's one smart cookie!   The hat is a template that I've had for quite sometime from Clear and Simple.  (I couldn't find it on their website - maybe they don't have templates anymore?)  I put a package of chocolate coins inside.

I think this shamrock would make a tasty and fun gift for St. Patrick's Day.  I'm going to make several more.  And I won't (maybe) eat all the Kisses!

ETA:  The winner of my giveaway for the PaperHaus Magazine blog hop is Wendy!   Wendy -  email me with your address and I'll get it off to you!
