Cute as can BEE

My  friend, Linda, has talked me into taking a clay class with her at the Oklahoma Museum of Art.  We are going to create our own teapot!  Doesn't that sound cool?  The only problem is that I am just not that great with clay.  My mother can attest to that - for decades she used one of my elementary clay "bowl" creations as a paperclip holder.  It's still just a wee bit embarrassing!   It seems that my clay ability may have been handed down to my daughter, Lauren.  When she was little she brought home her clay creation and I said, "Oh, how cute - you made a weeble in a boat!"  She said, "Mom, it's a Viking on a horse!"  Gotta love it!

Have you made anything with clay?  I would love to hear about it.  It takes three Sundays in April to create a teapot.  I can't wait and I'll keep you posted!

Anyway, Linda is as sweet as can BEE to invite me to join her and we're going to have a blast even if I come back with a weeble in a boat!

I love this vintage bee!  I didn't have a stamp that actually said BEE so I just stamped another E using a stamp from MFT Stamps.  I think this one may have been retired.

Have a wonderful week!

  3. What a cute little bee...such a sweet make Lori.
I did ceramic art for a while which was fine because we used moulds & slip. The one occasion that we had a go at making something from scratch was when we had a go at slab pots (rolling the clay out with rolling pins and cutting bits to make box shaped containers) - not a great result but it is amazing how a good coat of glaze can hide many imperfections LOL. Have loads of fun make your teapot.
