The Cutting Cafe Design Team

How exciting! I checked my e-mail before going to sleep last night and got the wonderful news that I've been chosen by Regina Easter for The Cutting Cafe Design Team! Check out the blinkie in my side bar. I'll be posting creations made with her wonderful templates. You might remember a couple of her templates that I've already used: the strawberry card and the duck shape I used for the pull toy.

In honor of choosing her new design team members, Regina is having a two for one special at The Cutting Cafe. Last weekend was my great aunt Jane's 75th birthday party hosted by her daughters, Karen and Dena. It was so nice to see them and my cousins, Joy and Kathy. We were asked to bring a memory page to be placed in a book. My mom and Jane used to make hollyhock dolls together, so this is the memory page we brought for the book:

My mom found this postcard and sent it to me. It's perfect!

The following two cards were designed for my aunt Jane to give to her daughters as Thank You cards. They are made postcard style instead of opening. I used vintage crate labels and tried to keep them somewhat alike, while using very different materials.

Guy Birthday Cards

Hi! I've had to make a few guy birthday cards recently. I've complained before about the difficulty of making guy cards, but I'm fairly pleased with these. This one was made for a guy at work that drives a great vintage auto.

I also made this one for a man at work.
This card was made for Kirby, who I work with in our small office.

And this one was made for David, who works in the warehouse. Thanks for taking a look!

Hope you've had a nice weekend! I'd like to share a few father's day cards I made this year.


I found this pretty vintage map to use, framed it with some K & Co papers and added 'dad' cut on the Cricut. Mom had me make this one with 'husband' on the front.
I love these little space boys! Inside it says "You're Out of this World!" The puppy card is the one I gave to my Daddy, the best daddy in the world! So cute...made with October Afternoon and Girls Paperie papers.

This was a special order for a guy that likes things patriotic. I went with new papers from WeRMemoryKeepers. A very pretty line I'll use more of next year.

The next two cards are also special orders. One for Tiffany's dad (cowboy request) and one for her husband (in the Airforce), who will be a daddy early in July.

And lastly, a toolbox that I made. I forgot to take pictures of the ones made for Dads. They say Dad's Toolbox on the tag. Lauren, this one is for Paul for his birthday from his mom...so don't tell!
I wanted to give you a link to the instructions for making this cute little box. I know it was from Alpha Mom, but I was unable to find it again. She made hers from Altoid boxes and I'm not sure what she put inside. If you would like instructions, email me. I used tins from Papertrey Ink. The handle is an eye strap. It's used on boats, but I have no idea how. The little card had DAD on the front (for the Dads).
Inside it says, "You work so hard, you deserve another payday."
The card sits in the top tin and in the bottom is a Payday candy bar. Very cute!

Darling Kitten

Hope you've been having a nice week! I also hope (if you're in OKC) that you didn't get caught in the flood on Monday! Wow, I've never seen so much rain. I didn't go to work until noon. Dennis called me on his way to work and told me to "not get out!" He had a rough time getting to work and since my car is so low profile I listened to him. About 10:00, we had a river running down our street!

You already know I love working with vintage images. I love this kitty! This card makes me smile when I look at it.

The papers are from Girls Paperie. Love their paper! The pretty stamp, in pink ink, is from Papertrey Ink. I like the unexpected black butterfly in the corner and all the crinkle ribbon. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week!

New Cards

I just spent a great weekend with Lauren! Yesterday, we went to the Oklahoma City Art Museum to see the From Sketch to Screen exhibit. It was great...lots of costumes from old (and not so old) movies. I highly recommend it if you aren't too far away.

I really love this card. Isn't that the sweetest little girl with the kitty? The background is stamped with a stamp from the ornaments set from Making Memories. You can also see some of my yummy crinkle ribbon. Love how that green turned out! The Friends sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. Add some vintage dictionary paper and some K & CO patterned paper and there you go!

This vintage Singer ad is so cute. You can also see some of the other colors of ribbon I've made. Of course, that vintage button is just the icing on the cake!


I used some old My Mind's Eye papers and a new really large Martha Stewart border punch.

I can't believe how hot it is already! Ninety something everyday...I have to stay in where it's cool! Hope you had a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello, Goodbye!

Goodbye, little car! I said a goodbye to my little Miata yesterday. I've had it for 15 years! I love, love that car...I have to confess I cried when I left it at the dealership yesterday.

Hello, little car! This is the new Miata.
I love the color and it's got cool gadgets, like at the push of a button the top folds into the back! But, I don't love it yet...maybe soon...

I wanted to show you a picture of my Eiffel Tower Keepsake Box. I really like how it turned out.

I couldn't figure out what to do with the top. So in browsing around in my junk jar I found the top of an old ornament. It worked perfectly. The pearl was just an added touch. Then I found this pretty vintage ad for Eiffel Tower Lemonade.
I didn't see the lemonade when we were there, but I can tell you that the best orange juice ever is at Versailles!

A Spot of Tea?

I have a cup of tea almost every afternoon when I get home from work - even in the summer. I don't seem to get tired of it, but am surprised that I still want it when the heat sets in. I just love sitting in the big chair in our library, reading and petting Kitty while drinking a cup of tea. So, this card is absolutely perfect for me! The paper is from October Afternoon and the stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

Hope you've had a great weekend. We went to Wichita to visit Lauren and Paul. It was so fun to be with her...went to the great antique stores in Wichita and just visited. Hope you've had a nice Memorial weekend and a big thank you to everyone in the armed forces.
