Scotty Valentines + Heart Ornaments

Do you make New Year's Resolutions?  I never have, but I think it might be time.  I'm overrun by crafting goodies and I need to do something about it.  So my New Year's Resolution is to:

USE MY (OLD) STUFF!

So, what's old stuff here?  The red polka and gingham papers, white sack, the deco-look frame and the project life card.  I'm pretty sure I've had those little black and silver gems for about 5 years!

The scotty valentine was picked up on one of my fun antiquing trips with Dennis and Lauren.

I've got him ready for you to create a fun valentine.  You can download him below.

You've probably seen lots of these heart ornaments.

I can't stand to see the staples or the ends of the hanger glued to the outside of one of the hearts.  It doesn't take much more time to follow the tips above and you don't have anything unsightly ruining the cuteness of the ornaments!

Download the Scotty Valentine HERE.

Dropbox seems to work differently for different people.  Either right click and save when image appears or click the download button in the top right corner.  If neither method works, email me and I'll send the files to you.

Thank you so much for all your well wishes!  Dennis and I are both feeling better, but I swear it seems as if this cough is never going away!  I've got plane tickets this week to visit baby Louisa so I have to be better!

So, I'm off to make good on my New Year's Resolution.  Looking through my stash...
How are you doing with your New Year's Resolutions?

Have a wonderful week!

  1. I'm not big on resolutions, but I do have some goals for 2017 & using what I've got (& getting rid of stuff I'll never use!) is near the top of my list, Lori! Your projects are always fabulous & you didn't disappoint today! The Scottie is beyond adorable & you are just the best at putting elements together! Glad you feel better--gotta have that grandma time! You're going to be the 2017 Queen of Frequent Flyer Miles--haha! Give Louisa an extra kiss from Auntie Greta!

  2. My resolution for the new year is learning to make CAs cards, but I know so well that I couldn't be able to do them :D LOL
Adorable cards with this scottie and love the staples! Your heart decorations are so easy to do, thanks for the tip!

  4. Adorable makes Lori - so sweet.
I don't 'do' resolutions either but this year I think I really need to get my crafting stuff organised so that I can make better use of it.

  5. Oh, such sweet creations, Lori!! Love the adorable little scotty dogs! Awesome layering and perfect little extras, too! My usual resolution is to exercise more. And, I also have on my list to get rid of craft things I don't need and use more neglected items that I have. It's so easy to accumulate craft goodies! Hope your cough goes away very soon and enjoy your time seeing your precious granddaughter, Louisa!!

  7. Scotty dogs never go out of style do they. A pink checked scotty w/ a big bow and the Eiffel Tower are a great modern combo.

The lingering cough usually isn't contagious, just annoying. I find that the tea Throat Coat helps me. I get it at Walmart, in the coffee/tea aisle.

As for accumulated stuff. I don't like to choke on stuff either. But I'm careful about what I do get rid of. Sometimes it's better for me if I stop buying and challenge myself to use what I have. There will always be great new stuff.

  8. Hi Lori! I don't do resolutions either.... I never stick with them so why bother! I do however try to challenge myself.. like with me trying to make 1 holiday card a week this year.... And I'm totally with ya on the "to much stuff" - I just recently got rid of a few 100 sheets of 12 x 12 paper that I knew I just wasn't going to use - So I packed them up and gave them away to a lady in town who likes to craft but has no money.... She was so happy to get the paper I gave her.... I was happy to "unload" some of my stuff! :) I've started another box for her too... it has flowers & ribbons & other stuff I don't use or said I would use but didn't- mostly new stuff too... If I haven't used it in a certain amount of time.. I probably won't... and I'm totally happy giving it away to someone who will actually use the items.... :) Now.... About your adorably CUTE projects! :) LOVE the Scotty dog and the gingham - Great design... oh and those hearts are wonderful too! Awesome little Valentine Gift set! Have a wonderful day! :)

  10. The cough part is what's had me miserable too. Hope it's gone for your trip to see that cutie pie. Another adorable critter for V-day. Think I might make some of those heart ornaments to hang on my table top birch tree. Thanks for the idea and tips. Hugs!

  11. Awww, I have a soft spot in my heart for Scotty dogs! How uhhhhdorable! And way to rock the old stash here! You make everything look so fresh and new (but with an adorable vintage flair, of course)!! Love all the layers and all the sweet details! And that heart ornament is just precious! Thanks for the tips on that!

  12. Well I'm catching up on all kinds of cuteness here! Love both of these! That little Scottie dog is precious! Thank you so much for the download! I also like how you made the 3-D heart ornaments - I've been meaning to make some of those myself! As for resolutions, I've given up as they always fall by the wayside after a couple weeks! Ive been trying to use my old craft stuff for a while now - I think we all have accumulated so much over the years!
