Hexagon Card for The Cutting Cafe

Hello!  Very nice to be back.  Oh, my - what a week!  Dennis was admitted to the hospital last Sunday with acute pancreatitis caused by gall stones.  At first, the doctor thought it might take weeks to get his pancreas normal enough to do gall bladder surgery - it was that serious.   But, it's been best case scenario all the way through.  He had gall stones removed on Thursday and then had gall bladder surgery on Friday.  We came home late Friday!   His recovery will take a little while longer than usual due to the pancreatitis.  He's so weak from not being able to eat.  But we are so grateful that everything went so well (and that he didn't have to spend weeks in the hospital).  We are exhausted, but I was able to do a little cardmaking today.

This week it's all about the Hexagon card at The Cutting Cafe.  I used the Hexagon shaped card and the background from the Hexagon Shaped Card Set

The background is the open hexagon shapes, which I cut with my Silhouette.   Love that!  Regina will have more inspiration on The Cutting Cafe Blog on Wednesday.   Have a wonderful week (I'll hopefully be catching up on sleep!)

Loreley as a Pearl for AWNB

Here is another lovely Loreley.  Loreley is a feminine water spirit associated with the 120 high meter rock on the eastern bank of the Rhine in Germany.  The story goes that Loreley was accused of bewitching men and instead of accepting her sentence of being sent to a nunnery climbed the rock and plunged to her death.   Okay, enough of that - I really do not like depressing things!

This Loreley is the creation of Chris from CS Designs.  I placed her inside a shell shaped card - she's the pearl, of course!  And not depressing, at all.

A few spritzes of glimmer mist created a soft pretty shimmer for the inside of the shell.  Come join us at Art With No Boundaries.  The theme is always Anything Goes.  The bonus round this time is Rhythm of the Sea.  You still have a week to link up your projects!  So glad you came by...

Apple for the Teacher at The Cutting Cafe

It's apple time at The Cutting Cafe.  And there are lots of apple images and treat boxes to satisfy any apple urge!  Unlike watermelon that I talked about on an earlier post, I actually like to eat apples, as well as make cute things with them.  I can remember staying at my great aunt Sue's when I was little.  She had an apple tree in the back with the tiniest tartest green apples - I loved them!

This sweet set is made with the Apple Box (one of it's variations will actually hold an apple or or perhaps a carmel apple) and the circle sentiment from All About School.

I used the apple from the box to cut out the small apples for the banner - I just reduced it to 60%.

On Wednesday, Regina will post all the School and Apple inspiration on The Cutting Cafe Blog.  Check it out for the giveaway, too!

Wish

Hello!  I'm just popping in to share a sweet little birthday card.  I understand this is going to a daughter who is just heading off to college.  The only request was to use a vintage image of a sweet little girl.

This image actually includes a couple of darling lambs - I'll have to create something with them sometime!  It seems like Lauren just left home for college.  But, it's now been several years ago.  I'm always saying time goes by in a blink of an eye.

I guess that's why it's important to enjoy life - it does seem to fly by!  Hope you're enjoying your day.  So glad you stopped by!

Fun With Owls at The Cutting Cafe

Okay, this set is CUTE!  Love all the owls and the cute sentiments in the Fun With Owls set.   I went with an "Owloween" theme (I love Halloween), but Fun With Owls is very versatile.  You can find it at The Cutting Cafe.

The thing I like most about this card is how the two owls are looking sideways at the little 'boo' owl.  The image comes with an owl couple that are looking at each other.  I simply used two of the left side owl, so they could both look at the odd little owl.

Regina will be posting other fun owl projects on Wednesday at The Cutting Cafe blog.  Join me there!

Loreley for AWNB

Wow!  This image is beautiful - it's by Chris at CS Designs.  I decided to design this card as if Loreley is looking into an aquarium.

The glass affect was created with diamond glaze.  I brushed a couple of layers only on the face portion.  It's a little hard to see in the photos, but I think you can get the idea of what it looks like.  It's quite amazing that it looks so much as if she's looking through glass.  The rest of the image is cut out and then added back to the image.

The card turned out fairly simple, but I don't think she needs much.  She's striking all on her own.  It's time for a new challenge at Art With No Boundaries.  Be sure to check the blog for the wonderful creations and all the details on the new challenge, the rhythm of the sea.  Thanks for stopping by and  I hope to see you there!

An Apple a Day at My Time Made Easy

Here we are on the last day of the August Release for My Time Made Easy.  It's a mix of old and new.  The old is the sweet berry basket itself and the fun 3D apples.

I made a back to school basket.   Great gift for a teacher...

These apples could be filled with  candy or decorated clothespins.  They are so cute!

The new is the Apple A Day cut file for the apple shaped cards.  I made a set of these thank you cards for the basket.  I also used the new file for the tag attached to the front of the basket with a red office clip.

Be sure to check out the New Products section in the store for all the new items.  And to see lots more cool projects, here is a list of all the blogs to see:

Have a wonderful weekend!
