Haunted Mushroom? Yep, you read that right! I'm showcasing the new Mush-Room template for the September Release at My Time Made Easy. I just love Halloween, so if I can turn something into a Halloween something, I'm probably going to do it!
This sweet haunted mushroom will hold a stem full of your favorite Halloween candy. The top features one of the new Hauntingly Homemade papers (I just printed it really small). And did you get a look at those sweet gnomes?
These little sweeties are a part of the new First Kiss stamp set. The door and windows are part of another gnome set called Gretchen and Gregory. So, now what do you think about a haunted mushroom?
You can find all the new September release in the New Products section at My Time Made Easy. And you can see other great ideas for the Mush-Room and Apothecary templates at these wonderful blogs:
It's time for a new month long challenge at Recycle, RePurpose & ReInvent. The theme is Anything Goes - just recycle something!
At work, we send lots of packages through UPS. Our billing statement began including these great recycled envelopes. We get more bills than we have to send checks and I've been keeping the envelopes, because I knew I would want them for something! Well, the "something" finally came along...this little pocket book.
The cover includes this wonderful Nature Goddess image created by Chris at CS Designs.
I cut the envelopes in half and then sewed them to create the pockets, which contain vintage seed packets or tags - all in keeping with the nature image and perfect for small photos and journaling.
I kept the embellishments very simple and are mostly made from leftover scraps.
I hope you join us at Recycle, RePurpose & ReInvent - you've got a whole month to create a project with something recycled. And you've got to check out the other projects!

t's time to start showcasing the September goodies from My Time Made Easy! Do you remember Mary Jane candies? That's the direction I went with the brand new Apothecary Jar template.
When I was a kid they had quit making Mary Janes and were making Bit O' Honeys. But I love them no matter what they're called!
I topped off the Apothecary Jar with a flower made from Mary Jane wrappers.
The tag is cut with the new Fabulous Frames cut file. And I found that darling Mary Jane at a local antique store. This is just one idea for the fun new Apothecary Jar - check out all the other ideas at these blogs:
Have fun!

We are featuring party crackers this week at The Cutting Cafe. I went with a Christmas cracker. Regina designed these to work two different ways. One will slide apart in the middle and one is just open on both ends. I made this one to only open on the left by tying the right ribbons in a knot.
That way the ribbons on the left can be tied back after emptying the goodies and the recipient still has a darling, intact cracker.
I also cut two black squares to insert in the ends, that way if I want to fill it with something tiny nothing will fall out! (Only the square on the right is glued.)
The side is decorated with a horse and sleigh silhouette that is in keeping with the Jingle Bells sheet music.
I took a picture of the back so you could more easily see the shape of the cracker treat box. I'm sure you'll find that this cute party cracker would work great for many occasions and the design team will have many ideas. You can see them all on The Cutting Cafe Blog tomorrow. See you there!

We've had a couple of mile-stone anniversaries recently. My mom and dad had their 50th in December. Dennis and I had our 30th in June. And Dennis's parents are getting close to 60 years. While Dennis was in the hospital ,nurses kept asking how long we've been married. They were all amazed at 30 years and said they rarely saw that anymore.
This the card for my in-laws. I challenged myself to use nothing but white. I did allow silver for the sentiment. All the dies and the sentiment, too, are from Papertrey Ink. Oops, no - the hearts are from Spellbinders. Have you had any mile-stone anniversaries recently?
Hello! Very nice to be back. Oh, my - what a week! Dennis was admitted to the hospital last Sunday with acute pancreatitis caused by gall stones. At first, the doctor thought it might take weeks to get his pancreas normal enough to do gall bladder surgery - it was that serious. But, it's been best case scenario all the way through. He had gall stones removed on Thursday and then had gall bladder surgery on Friday. We came home late Friday! His recovery will take a little while longer than usual due to the pancreatitis. He's so weak from not being able to eat. But we are so grateful that everything went so well (and that he didn't have to spend weeks in the hospital). We are exhausted, but I was able to do a little cardmaking today.
This week it's all about the Hexagon card at The Cutting Cafe. I used the Hexagon shaped card and the background from the Hexagon Shaped Card Set.
The background is the open hexagon shapes, which I cut with my Silhouette. Love that! Regina will have more inspiration on The Cutting Cafe Blog on Wednesday. Have a wonderful week (I'll hopefully be catching up on sleep!)
