Handmade Strawberry White Tea Bags with Paper Sweeties

Have you ever had Strawberry White Tea?  I was in my favorite coffee hangout, Beans and Leaves, and started looking at all the tea flavors.  Strawberry White Tea caught my eye.  I knew I wanted to do a couple of strawberry "things" with Paper Sweeties new stamps.  I have to tell you, the tea smells divine!

So, the Strawberry White Tea Gift was created.  See Abigail in her new strawberry outfit (Thanks Berry Much stamp set)?  She's popped on a clothespin holding the glassine bag closed and keeping the tea bags fresh.  The bag is embossed with tea images from stamp set I'm Having A Tea Party.  Abigail is holding a sentiment from Tea for Two.

Making your own tea bags is actually fun and pretty easy!

Die cut the tea bag paper into desired shape and sew around, leaving an opening for one teaspoon of tea leaves. Finish sewing.  Run thread from the middle top of the bag through the top of the strawberry die cut (or whatever shape you want).  And it's done, that easily!

I let the tea brew for awhile after taking this picture.  I like my tea fairly strong and a white tea is fairly light - but it is tasty!

It's Strawberries with Paper Sweeties!

The August release stamps are all available today at Paper Sweeties!  Today (and tomorrow, too), I've got a strawberry theme going.

I love little baskets and wanted to take advantage of the berry sweet sentiments from the new Thanks Berry Much stamps.  I love the banner stamp which you can see stamped in green here.

Awhile back when I first posted one of these little strawberry boxes, I got quite a few emails asking about how I did the ribbon and tag so that it could still be opened.   So I've got a couple of pictures that might help.

First, thread the ribbon through the holes of the strawberry and bring both ends through the leaves.  The strawberry box pattern I used can be found here.  There are also several available online for diecutting machines.

Then make "bunny ears."

Simply, tie the tag around the bunny ears.  All your recipient will have to do, is untie the tag and open the strawberry.

To see the entire Paper Sweeties release, you can visit the store today and to see more inspiration using Paper Sweeties stamps, visit the Paper Sweeties blog.  Come back tomorrow when I will feature Paper Sweeties stamps and White Strawberry Tea!

Embossing Continues with Paper Sweeties

Who knew the  new border stamps from Paper Sweeties would make such a pretty butterfly?  Welcome to Day Two of the new stamp release and I've got more embossing!

I started out making a simple journal - just some folded notebook paper and cardstock sewed down the spine.  To make the middle part, I stamped and embossed the border several times and die cut a butterfly.  (The sentiment is from the new You Are stamp set.) Then I wanted  to package it up and add a special tag.

This would make such a sweet little gift.  The Paper Sweeties blog has all the details for the August release festivities and sweet inspiration, too!

Heat Embossing with Paper Sweeties

It's Day One of Paper Sweeties Pre-Release.  Isn't this flower image pretty?

I got carried away with the embossing - I heat embossed everything!  I like how it turned out and I love the colors on the kraft card.  The flowers and sentiment are from the new You Are set and the border along the bottom is from the new set aptly named Borders!

Check out the Paper Sweeties blog for all the fun things going on with the August Release and for more Paper Sweeties inspiration!

Angels We Have Heard On High

Sweet, sweet angels...aren't they darling?  Every Christmas, I must do at least one angel card.  I like that this image allowed me to use some non-traditional Christmas colors.

You've probably already figured out that these sweet angels are an image from Nicecrane Designs.  You figured that out, because Ignacio offers such wonderful vintage images!

You can find Victorian Angel Postcards and lots of other vintage goodies in the store.

Linking up at Make It Monday.

Have a wonderful week!

August Release at My Time Made Easy

It's not just the August Release - it's a huge August Release!   My Time Made Easy has 10 new templates!

This one is called Pocket Change.   Isn't it cute?  I love the shape of the handle.  I also like the color combination - not one I've seen a lot of.  I think I was using the green paper on one project and the kraft on another and you know, I don't really clean up as well as I should and they looked pretty together.  Then I went looking for paper at My Time Made Easy to fit my color scheme.

It's part of the Tea Parlor set of papers.  The heart was cut with Flag 'Em Down piece file.

I also added a border around the edge using Border Builders Scallop Dot cut file.

One tip:   if you want to add a bow to the top - glue it to the main part of the box and  not to the handle!

You can find the entire August Release in the new section at My Time Made Easy.

Have fun!

Owl Always Love You

My daughter, Lauren, lives in Wichita.  We often go to World Market when we visit her.  I always find something I "have to have."  One of the things I picked up were these darling owl tags.

Aren't they cute?  They also make cute cards.  What could be easier than to pop a cute owl on top of some cute papers?

Love that World Market!  By the way, if you like Gingersnap Cookies, THESE (from World Market) are awesome!

(Will link to Make It :Monday.)
