Baby + Stork

There's probably not anything sweeter than a baby.  I really enjoy making baby cards, but don't seem to do it that often.  This one was a request for a baby shower.

Not being sure what the baby is going to be, I opted for yellow.    I love this stamp!  It's really large and makes quite an impression.  It's from Woodware and I've got a couple left in my store.    I hand wrote Special Delivery and just dotted in the sky with a Copic marker.

I'm off tomorrow and need to do a couple of technique videos for Cut Out + Keep.  I'm looking forward to being a part of their Technique Tuesday program.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Paper Sweeties Birthday Hop

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Third Birthday Blog Hop!   My goodness, three years already - where does the time go?  It does go by fast when you're having fun!  Congratulations, Debbie on a fun three years!

Since we're celebrating a birthday, I went with a Birth Day theme and used the Bouncing Baby stamp set.  Isn't that giraffe adorable?

I used the colors in Paper Sweeties August Challenge:

Pretty colors, right?  You might want to play along!  Visit the Paper Sweeties Blog for all the information.

My card features a flat shaker element.  I really like it as an alternative to the bulk that a normal shaker piece can add.    In the video below, I show you how to make it and give a couple of tips about the sequins, too.

Of course, you're looking the the star of this card - that sweetie pie giraffe!  I had such fun watercoloring it and you can see the process in the video.  I'm a newbie at watercolor, so learn along with me!

Hope you enjoy the video:

Third Bundle of Joy

Wow!  Third bundle of joy!  Congratulations to Jinny Newlin!  That seems like a lot to me - I only have one and she's all grown up now.  On Mondays, I've been keeping Charolotte (Lauren's niece), who is now 9 months old.  I tell you what she is so very sweet, but I'm worn out even after only a couple of hours!  So THREE??  You go, Jinny!

Welcome to the Paper Sweeties Baby Blog Hop in honor of Jinny!

The Sweeties Teamies have created a little something 'sweet' to share with everyone today on our blogs.   My something sweet is a card I whipped up using the oh so pretty Fancy Monograms and Upper and Lower Alphas from Paper Sweeties.  The vintage image postcard is from Free Pretty Things for You.

And Paper Sweeties is offering some Baby Blog Hop presents!  We have several different ways for you to be eligible to win a $10 gift certificate to Paper Sweeties and we will choose THREE lucky winners!  Winners will be announced on October 31st!

#1 - HOP along to all the Sweeties Teamies' blogs and find the 'hidden' letter somewhere in their blog post.  After you've completed all EIGHT stops, you'll have eight letters that spell out a word related to today's Baby Blog Hop.  Unscramble the letters to figure out the word and then CONTACT US to send in your guess!  (Don't leave your guess in a comment or everyone else will see it!)

 Debbie Marcinkiewicz - Paper Sweeties

#2 - COMMENT on the Paper Sweeties Baby Blog Hop post and leave Jinny a little baby blog hop love about her new little bundle of joy!

#3 - CREATE something with a congratulations and/or baby theme and link up in the Paper Sweeties gallery by October 30th at 12 noon EST.

#4 - SHARE about this Baby Blog Hop and Contest on your blog and/or Facebook wall.

If you are collecting letters, my letter is the the second letter in the word bundle:  U

Have fun hopping!

Hello Cards

I found these darling journal cards on etsy at LoveCreationGal.   These are just a couple out of the set.

I couldn't wait to create with these - they were certainly calling my name!

What's not to love?  Cute, cute animals and that pretty vintage blue color.

I think I fall for that color every time I see it.

Hope you are having as wonderful a week as me!  But is anyone else beginning to think that Christmas is just around the corner?  Where, oh where, does the time go?

Rain, Rain Go Away at The Cutting Cafe

It's time for the weekly inspiration at The Cutting Cafe!  This week we're all using the Rain, Rain Go Away set.  It has some darling images.

I used the Little Ducky image and sentiment from the set.  I didn't really set out to make a baby card.  But, that's what it looked like to me, so I added the little heart with Baby on it.  Then I thought it needed some cattails.  What do you think?

Regina will have all the DT inspiration up Wednesday evening at The Cutting Cafe Blog.  And I'm sure if you stop by, she'll have a special for you!
