Creating with Pretty Printables from Iralamija Shop

When you want to create something pretty Beatriz Jennings makes it easy for you.  In fact, when you look at all the goodies in her shop, it's hard to decide just what to create with first!

I love her butterflies.  She has some of the prettiest around.

And what about the sweet house?

I think this pocket and tag is perfect for mother's day or for a friend.  Maybe even slip in a wrapped candy bar?

Beatriz's images are so pretty, you hardly have to add anything to create something special.

So glad you stopped by.  Have a wonderful day!

National Learn About Butterflies Day

Do you find butterflies fascinating?   I've always thought they were pretty, but never really thought too much about them until I started researching to create a study for first graders a few years back.  We even planted a butterfly garden.  Tomorrow is National Learn About Butterflies Day.

Did you know that butterflies taste with their feet?  Good thing they don't wear shoes!

I really love vintage butterfly science prints.  They are quite lovely.  This one strikes my fancy because of the green butterfly with the pale aqua in its wings.

I cleaned this up a little and enlarged the butterfly to really show it off.  If it strikes your fancy, you can download the print and the butterfly below.

The sentiment is included in the download.

Butterfly wings are clear!  I know, what???  The colors and patterns we see are reflections created by tiny scales that cover their wings.

Isn't this butterfly and jar pretty?

What makes this card extra cool is the jar on the back.

The jars are glued together at the very top.  Running a bone folder along the curve of the bottom ridge helps the card top to lift easily for the recipient to see the inside.  I found these pretty jars at Iralamija's shop.  You can find the link below.

A group of butterflies is called a flutter.   I just got the new Butterfly kit from My Favorite Things in the mail.

I used the stamps to create a circle flutter.

I found it much easier to keep the butterflies where I wanted them by first drawing a guide.  I decided where I wanted a butterfly and erased that part of the circle before stamping.

You can download the Green Butterfly Science Print HERE.

Dropbox seems to work differently for different people.  Either right click and save when image appears or click the download button in the top right corner.  If neither method works, email me and I'll send the files to you.

Have a lovely National Learn About Butterflies Day.  It may be too early in your part of the world to see any butterflies yet, but keep an eye out!

Mini Floral Treat Bag Printable + Tag!

It's Memorial Day here in the U.S. - A day for remembering those who have died while serving our country.  We are so thankful for those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice.

I've got such a pretty printable for you today.  I hope you have a friend and/or family member you would like to create this little floral gift bag for and tuck in a tag and a treat or two.

The printable also includes a tag - which can be embellished a ton of different ways!

The bag is super easy to make:

I printed the bag and tag on 28lb Hammermill copy paper.  It's thicker and slicker than normal copy paper.  It's my go-to paper for treat bags - love it!

You can use glue or tape to seal your bag.

The ideas for the tag are endless.  I like it when things are versatile.

These are three ideas I quickly whipped up.  I used dies and stamps to add some interest.

Here's how I colored the butterfly die:

I covered the entire butterfly (watercolor paper) with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink.

Then add water drops.  I meant to drop a few tiny drops of water, but it went a little like this:  "OH, NO!  Crap!".  I DROWNED my butterfly.  But when I wiped it off, it looked kind of cool, a little like tie-dye.  The idea is to add droplets of water and dry them off with the paper towel.  This was a Happy Accident!

Download the floral treat bag and tag HERE.  When the treat bag image comes up,wait for just a little bit and the download button will pop up in the top right hand corner.

So glad you stopped by.  Have a lovely week!
