St. Pat's Fun + Free Image + Who Won?

All smiles - that's me!  We just got back from visiting my daughter and her husband (and, of course, their HUGE Airedale puppy, Percy). Let me just say, he is already 60 pounds and is not through growing!

Margarida from All Is Full of Love and I have a giveaway going on that ends now!  Who won?  Let's look at another project first!

Margarida has a lovely selection of colors available in these pillow boxes - go to All Is Full of Love to see them all.  You'll also find patterns:  stripes, dots and hearts - so cute!

I used a vintage bridge tally for decoration.  Love her costume!  You can download her HERE.  Just right click and download.

I've got a couple of quick tutorials to make shamrocks.  One to make the chenille stem shamrock that I used on the last post (on the handle of the shamrock treat cup) and also the felt shamrock that I used on the pillow box above.

To make the chenille stem shamrock you just need one chenille stem.  The last picture doesn't even have any adhesive yet - it holds together really well.  I used hot glue and just pressed the middle of the shamrock to the handle of the treat cup.

I used a die to cut the hearts and just cut a strip for the stem using scissors.  Easy!

On to the giveaway!!!
Who won the

St. Pats Day + A Giveaway

Have you seen Margarida's Etsy store :  All Is Full of Love?  She has some wonderful paper and template sets - I just can't get enough!  Go ahead, go look, find out what you need (want)  and come right back.  You don't want to miss the two sweet St. Pat's Day treat cups created with Margarida's cupcake wrappers and the awesome GIVEAWAY!

I love the idea of the gold at the end of the rainbow.  When I saw the rainbow cupcake wrapper, I immediately thought of a little candy cup filled with chocolate coins.

If you would like to download a copy of the little "Lucky Me" tag above, click HERE.

You'll also find a shamrock cupcake wrapper at All Is Full of Love.

So how do you get from a cupcake wrapper to a treat cup?  Pretty easy!  Here's how:

Print  and cut out the cupcake wrapper of your choice.  Form a base with a scallop and a plain circle.  Use a bone folder to curve the cupcake wrapper.

Stack and glue the four 1 3/4" circles and glue them to the base.  Wrap the cupcake wrapper around the 1 3/4" circles to form a cup.  Adhere where the ends overlap.  Fill and decorate!

Margarida and I have put together a giveaway with lots of awesome green things!  Digital downloads, trims, cards, sacks, labels, straws, pencils, cookie cutter, clothespins, sequins, roses, stickers...

To Win:
3. We would love it if you would share this post on your facebook page and leave a link to your page in your comment on this post.

Don't have a facebook page?  Just leave me a note in your comment that you would like to win.

Winner will be selected on Sunday, March 8th by random selection.    So come back on Sunday not only to see if you've won, but also for another St. Patrick's Day project with Margarida's cute green pillowbox and a quick tutorial on how to make the chenille stem shamrock above.

See you Sunday!

Trick or Treat? Treat, for sure!

I remember when I was little and getting ready to go trick or treating, my daddy telling me a story about when he was a kid.  He and his brothers went up the steps of a house close by to trick or treat and the man came out and threw a pan of water on them!  That seems like a horrible trick!  I'm kind of fuzzy on other details, but I remember thinking about it every time I rang a doorbell that year.  Luckily, when I said "Trick or Treat," I got all treats!

I think these darling black cat images from the 1940s are treats, too!

Aren't they sweet?  I  love the big shadows and the tiny kitty and witch.  I picked them up at Posh Totty Designz and you can, too!

I added sentiments from the Superstition stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  I especially love this one:  Something about you seems familiar.  Isn't it perfect for this picture?

And now for a little something, NOT a trick, but a treat!

How about a few Halloween stamps, washi tape and black and white twine?  I've got two sets to give away!  Just let me know in your comment that you would like to win a Halloween Treat.  I promise I won't send a trick!  Two winners will be selected randomly and I'll announce the winners on Thursday.  Be sure to stop back by to see if you're a winner.

I think these stamps will make darling cards (or whatever Halloween project you would like to make).

So glad you stopped by!

Hello Doll + a Giveaway!

My mom loves paper dolls - don't you, Mom?  She has very fond memories of playing with them as a kid and she has enjoyed collecting them as an adult.  Mom's birthday was in April and I made a special card reminiscent of a paper doll dress for my dad to give to Mom.

Daddy always asks me to make a card for Mom.  He slipped me a note when we had lunch reminding me that he needed one.  That same day, Keren from Free Pretty Things For You, sent me these adorable Hello Doll circles.  It seemed like a match made in heaven!  The dress template is from The Cutting Cafe.   Here's a closer look at the Hello Doll image that is free for you:

Isn't she a doll (hah)!   There are two versions - one with a pink banner and one with a teal banner.  See the download links below.

The vellum butterflies are super easy and oh, so pretty.

Just scribble color on the vellum and punch out.  Couldn't be easier!  Stack up a couple - they look fluttery and have beautiful soft color.

I found several of these vintage baby hangers at an antique store that we go to in Wichita when we're visiting Lauren.  It's hard for me to resist sweet little things like this!

When I finished up the doll dress, I folded up a piece of cardstock and clipped it to the back with the clothespin for Daddy to write a note to Mom.  I also embellished an envelope, because with that hanger a closed envelope really wasn't working!

I used one of Keren's other free images -  floral gingham circle tags  - to make a bit of flair to decorate the front.  Isn't it sweet?

Would you like to have the Hello Doll images for your creations?  For the pink banner version of Hello Doll, click HERE.  For the teal banner version, visit Free Pretty Things for You.

How about a floral flair bundle giveaway featuring all the colors of floral gingham circles at FPTFY?  Here is what I'll send one lucky randomly selected commenter:

How do you win?  As always, it is easy!  Just leave me a comment on this post that you would like to win the Floral Flair Bundle Giveaway.  You have until Tuesday, May 6th, 8:00 p.m. (central time) to comment.   I'll announce the winner on Wednesday, May 7th.   Be sure to check back on Wednesday (especially if you're contact info is hard to find).

Happy Monday!

Burlap + Gold Winners

Winners?  Plural?  Yes, that's right.  I selected two winners!

Who are they?

Yes, I did it the old fashioned way:  names on paper, folded in basket, husband picks name(s).  It still works!  Lisa M and Jane email me with your info (email at right) and I'll get your burlap right off to you.  You'll have to show us your creations!
