Very Cool Vintage Butterfly Embroidery Background Free Image

You know I love vintage!  My husband and I have spent many hours wandering in antique stores.  My daughter has a passion for vintage cookbooks and magazines - she comes by it honestly.  We are also packrats  - not quite hoarders, but afraid we might get there!  

My mom and dad just built a new house and they are certainly NOT packrats!   Mom gave me boxes of stuff before they moved.  She knew I wouldn't be able to get rid of any of it!   Their house is perfectly neat, not so mine.  I tease Mom that she failed to make me a neat freak!

Make It A Card, Please! + Free Image

I can do that!  It's kind of fun to take a creation and change it up just a little to make something new.   I had a request to change a gift bag (I created earlier) into a card.

You can see I made only a couple of changes.  The 110 lb cardstock is perfectly capable of standing up to a bit of watercolor.  

Sequins made a pretty addition.  The vivid green of the butterfly is lovely against the white.

I'm happy and my customer is happy - can't beat that!!

Whisper Your Wish + Printable

Part of the fun of any birthday is blowing out the candles and making a wish, right?  Well, what if you double the chances of it coming true by whispering that wish to a butterfly?

The saying goes that the butterfly will fly the wish to the heavens to make it come true.

I love this idea, so I decided to combine the two on this birthday card:  blowing out candles and whispering to a butterfly.

Now you just have to hope there is a butterfly around somewhere on your birthday!  

Use your Trash and Who Won?

Do you save all the little paper pieces left over from your creations?  I think it's a great idea, but sometimes I have to rethink my storage.  If I could solve that problem, I'd be THRILLED!  Awhile back I made a couple of scotty dog cards that used a very sweet doily.  Of course, I had saved the trash - I mean negative space, of course!  

I decided to put my hoarding - I mean saving - to good use.  The patterned paper is also a saved item.

I added some other things I had picked up in the infamous Michaels dollar bins including the butterflies and post it notes and I was in business.

Amazing, a card started with trash!

Heart Butterflies

Hope you've enjoyed all the fun projects for the Paper Sweeties May Release!  One of the sets, Fun Shapes, has a really cute heart.  Well, it turns out if you put 4 hearts together, you've got a butterfly!

So 3 butterflies later, sentiments from Beautiful stamp set, and some doodling this is what I came up with:

The butterfly bodies are a circle and oval hand punch.  The antennae are flower stamens.
