Special Delivery Valentine Treat

I've started my Valentine projects and had so much fun with this one!  Love those cute critters and the adorable delivery truck.

Here's a look at the top and back.

Brushed on some tumbled glass to make the stripe around the delivery truck.

Just some simple copic coloring on the page huggers.

Packed with kisses!

Louisa stayed with us almost two weeks from a little before Christmas to New Year's Day.  We had so much fun!  Here she is making her Yeti cards.  First time using glitter!  Messy, but lots of fun.

This is one of her cards.  The little yeti with the present is on the inside.  Aren't the yetis cute?

I made Louisa this yeti and put it with a collection of books featuring yetis for one of her presents.

After all the hard work, oh I mean, glittering, we had to have a snack.  This is Louisa's first time to have hot chocolate.  She kept saying "MMMM".  Oh, my gosh - she's the funnest, sweetest thing ever!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Visions of Sugarplums by commenting or posting a project to the challenges.  The two challenges winners, randomly selected by InLinkz,  were Gail S and FitKitty, who both won $20 to Simon Says Stamp.

Thank you for indulging an indulgent grandma...

Hope you had a wonderful holiday and here's wishing you a Happy New Year!

Easy Custom Envelopes + Gift Card Holder + Sweet Girl and Kitty

Do you make odd sized or shaped cards?  I never think about the envelope until I have the card finished.  You should have seen me in the past, flinging open drawers, slinging out envelopes, pulling out my hair...

I have a LOT of envelopes.  Seriously.  Drawers Full.  And still half the time, I've made a card that just WON'T FIT or is dwarfed by the envelope.

Solution:  Make envelopes.  Well, okay.  But.... (confession here), I really don't have the patience for that really cool envelope maker that I have stashed away.  I just can't figure out how to make envelopes with it that work for my cards.

Real Solution:  Make really easy envelopes.  Okay.  How?  Here's how:

The video shows how to make easy envelopes for small, large and shaped cards.  I use my score pad, but you could use a straight edge and a bone folder to make the scores.

One fun thing to make with this method is gift card holders.  We love books in our family, so this gift card holder has a Barnes and Noble gift card.  And see that little cat reading?  Adorable!  The kitty with the party hat is stamped on sticker paper.  It will be the seal for the back of the gift card holder.

This card is long enough for some envelopes I have, but it's too skinny.  So, a custom envelope it is.

This is another of my Agnes Richardson images.  I just love the sweet little girl and the black kitty.  You can download her below.

Dropbox seems to work differently for different people.  Either right click and save when image appears or click the download button in the top right corner.  If neither method works, email me and I'll send the files to you.

Louisa made valentines when I was there last week.  We didn't make them until February 15th, but oh well...  I die cut some hearts and then printed unicorns on sticker paper.  I peeled the stickers for her and handed them to her.

She really did a good job and had a lot of fun.  She made 6, which was just about right for a 15 month old.  I rubbed some baking soda on the back parts of the unicorn stickers that stuck out over the hearts to keep them from sticking to anything.

You can see I also made envelopes the same way as I show in the video.

So, go ahead and make those small, large and shaped cards.  Envelope?  I've got you covered.

Have a wonderful week!

Valentine Angels and a Meow

Valentines.  Angels.  They certainly go together.  These old valentines are so pretty.

I used these angels a couple of years ago on top of a fan-shaped candy box.

You can see that I basically cased myself to create this card.  I love the box, so why not a card?

The download has the angels on white and also on gorgeous old ledger paper.

And if you love that heart rosette (isn't the gold and pink glitter so pretty?), I have a video from a couple of years ago on how to make them.

The little bon bon box is also from that time.  You can see more about it HERE.

You may remember me talking about how Louisa loves to "RAWR" and that I made THIS Valentine card for her.  Well, she also loves to "MEOW!"

When she's here, she meows at the top of her lungs and follows kitty around saying "Hi, Kitty!"  When she saw me a couple of weeks ago, she asked, "Kitty? Kitty?"   I had to tell her No, that Kitty did not come with me, that he had to stay home.  So, I made this sweet black kitty valentine for my mom and dad to give to Louisa.

You can download the Valentine Angels HERE.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine Owl Tags

I could have titled this post:  Pink Only!    I've been in rather a pink mood.  What does that mean?  Cute, sweet, polka dots, and gingham, of course. Oh, and don't forget, glitter!

First up is that adorable owl - winking right at you.  I've had these pink gingham bags forever.  I thought it was about time to use them and this owl made the perfect tag.  She was so easy to make with my Cricut.  Love the pink and the wink!

I haven't quite decided what package this heart shaped tag is going to decorate.  I've had those heart dies forever too and hardly ever use them.  And I think they're such a fun shape, so I don't know why I don't pull them out more often.

Whooo adores these little owl stamps?  I do!  Love the fun owl puns, too!

Here are the pieces to the last owl tag.

Easy is what this owl tag is - and cute, too.  One tip I have for this owl, (it just seemed to make it sweeter) is to put the right eye just a little higher than the left.  And add a little white to the eye.

I poured some conversation hearts into a glassine bag and then folded the end over a little and then folded the bag in half.

I wrapped the twine around and clipped on the owl.

So that's three owl-ways fun owl Valentine tags.  They certainly satisfied my pink mood.  How about you?  What color is your mood today?

Happy Valentines Day!

Do you have plans for Valentines Day?  We'll probably stay home - Dennis usually fixes a steak and potato for us.  I have to say his steaks are pretty hard to beat and it's much easier than going out.  I'm thinking that since Valentines is on Friday that restaurants will be especially busy.  We may go to a movie on Saturday.  Do you have a recommendation?

You already know that I love these kitschy school valentines.  Simply clip a vintage image valentine to a little bag and you have instant valentine wonderfulness!

Add a few Kisses and/or Hugs and probably a heart lollipop (or two).  I don't think you can beat that!

In case you need a little last minute Valentine, I've got a sheet of these two below ready for you to download.  All you have to do is print and cut.

I found these at a local antique store.  So fun when I get lucky like that!

One Eyed Monsters

These might not be the One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater - but I think they might be cousins!  These one eyed monsters are adorable, easy and perfect for Valentines Day!

Aren't they fun?  Look at the cute little hiney!  I think these are great for kids and adults!  How about making your co-workers day?  Or giving a friend a laugh?  Kids will love these!  And I guarantee if I was still teaching, I would be making about 28 of these for my kids.

You can get Boy Monster Hugs and Girl Monster Hugs at Stampin' Up.  They are really cool just the way they are - but I started thinking....  And came up with a little flag to add to the fun.

Here's what you do:

Download the sentiment sheet below.  Print onto kraft (or color of your choice.  I went with kraft to match their hands and feet.)   Then cut into flags.  They can be cut to work on the left or right of the monsters. Score to make it easier to wrap around a toothpick.

Tip:  Cut off the tip of the toothpick to make it less pointy - less likely to poke someone that way.

For a little extra pizzazz:  use a white Signo pen to add dashes around the flag.  (Don't have a Signo pen?  If you would like one at a great price, we have them in our store. Just email me.)

I used one glue dot and a little additional bit of liquid glue to hold the flag in place.  The end of the toothpick is right under the nuggets and doesn't seem to bother them in the least.

Your little monsters can hold one nugget or two.  There is a sticker built in to hold it in place.  It seems sticky enough, but I like redundancy.  I added a couple of glue dots to the back of the nuggets.

Their arms have little slits so the monsters can hug the nuggets until someone special is ready for a sweet treat.

With each set of monster hugs you get:  18 monsters, 24 googly eyes, and 24 heart stickers. These are lovely quality and even the stickers are sturdy.  They are only available for a limited time.

This is a great time to shop at Stampin' Up. We've still got some great products at 80% off in the clearance Blitz.  Beginning January 3rd, a new catalog Celebrate the Everyday, will be available.  I've already shopped and had to force myself to stop!  You'll love some of the new products.

INCENTIVE:  Be one of the first four to place a Stampin' Up order with me beginning January 3rd  for $50 or more.  Make sure you are on my page when you order. I will email you using the email you give Stampin' Up.  You will then get to pick an item or items of your choice from the Celebrate the Everyday catalog that equal $10.00 or less.  Don't add your free items to your order - wait for my email.

Who can you think of that would like to get a one-eyed monster hug from you?
